Why does Koinita matter in an AI-dominated book market?
Retail marketplaces are being flooded with mass-generated titles, and discovery is controlled by ranking algorithms that reward volume and ad spend. Koinita is an ethical economic counter-system: every member is a verified human author who has personally supported other authors, readers buy directly from the people who wrote the book, and the value of each sale stays with its creator.
How much do authors earn on Koinita?
Authors receive 75% of net margin on every sale. Net margin = retail price − print cost − card processing fee. Koinita keeps 25% to run the cooperative. Shipping is always paid by the buyer and never deducted from royalties.
Why are print books cheaper on Koinita than on Amazon?
Authors enter their Amazon list price and Koinita automatically applies a reader discount of about 18%. With no retailer taking a 40–60% cut, the author still earns more per copy while the reader pays less.
How does an author get published on Koinita?
Upload a Word (.docx) or Markdown manuscript. Koinita converts it into a valid EPUB 3 ebook with one-click AI formatting fixes. Your book stays in “pending support” until you complete the co-op enrollment obligation — 10 print books or 15 ebooks (or a hybrid) from other members — then it publishes automatically.
I live outside the United States. Can I join?
Yes. International authors enroll with a 15-ebook quota, so there is no expensive cross-border shipping. Your ebook is sold worldwide; your print edition is printed on demand and sold to US addresses only, which you acknowledge when you submit.
Can readers outside the US buy books?
Ebooks are available to readers everywhere. Print editions currently ship to US delivery addresses only.
How are print books printed and shipped?
Print orders are fulfilled on demand via our certified global press network the moment payment clears. Authors never leave the Koinita dashboard, and readers get tracking when the book ships.
Can I read Koinita ebooks on Kindle?
Yes. Every ebook is a standard EPUB 3 file. Read it in the Koinita browser reader with synced progress, download it, or use “Send to Kindle”.
Who can review books on Koinita?
Only readers with a verified purchase or verified download of that book can post a review or comment, which keeps ratings honest and resistant to manipulation.
Do I need a password?
No. Sign in with Google, Apple, or a one-time email link that expires after 15 minutes.
